Bob Worden is the founder and president of Pinnacle Physical Therapy. He is a veteran of the athletic training and physical therapy profession. He recently completed 11 years as clinician, administrator, and regional clinical coordinator with the Healthsouth Corporation before opening the new Pinnacle Site in June of 2004. Bob has been active in high school and college sports medicine with service to Newton North High School, Rivers School and several schools throughout the Merrimack Valley.

He was the Director of Athletic Training at the University of Lowell from 1981-1988. 32 of his student Physical Therapy Majors became certified Athletic Trainers under his direction. During this time, the University won National Championships in basketball and ice hockey. He worked with All American athletes in soccer, cross country, track and field, wrestling and tennis. Bob Worden has been a leader in the field of sports medicine.

His thesis study on injuries in high school soccer is an important work. He founded the Independent School Medical Council and has been a driving force behind placing certified Athletic Trainers in High Schools. Bob has been recognized by the National Athletic Trainers Association for his early work in placing athletic trainers in nontraditional settings as a member of the Corporate Industrial Committee for the N.A.T.A.

Bob Worden completed basic and advanced Graston Technique training this fall. “Those new skills have given our staff another tool to treat painful, acute, and chronic soft tissue pain,” stated Bob. His busy continuing education agenda also included the annual Cincinnati Sports Medicine Program and brought new shoulder and knee treatments back to the clinic. Nationally renowned Orthopedic Surgeon Frank Noyes and Physical Therapists Kevin Wilk and George Davies led the program.

He also attended the Harvard Medical Schools program on ankle diagnosis and treatment featuring Michael Wilson, M.D., Chief of orthopedics and ankle service at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
